Volunteer Guidelines

Thank you for volunteering during this time!

Dog walking is restricted when the temperatures drop below 15 degrees.

However, if you are not able to walk, please visit our felines, prepare newspapers, clean cage cards, or ask to see what other jobs need done.

Remember that we are following state requirements and limiting the number of people at the shelter until the stay-at-home order is lifted.

IMPORTANT -- To volunteer:

1. SIGN UP and reserve your spot by calling me at 724-548-4520 or email me at orphansofthestorm@hotmail.com.

2. Masks must be worn at all times at the shelter.

3. A distance of six feet must be maintained for volunteers and staff.

We must follow the state requirements and don’t want to be asked to stop volunteers from coming so please follow these rules until this stay-at-home order and mask wearing is lifted.

PLEASE do not come without being in touch with me first. I don’t want you to come and have to go back home without spending time with animals.

Thank you for bearing with us during this time.

We look forward to seeing you!

The staff, and the animals, have missed you!

Bethann Galbraith, Shelter Manager

General Volunteering Tips/Precautions

While carrying an illness home from the shelter is unlikely, after visiting the shelter it is always wise to:
