Be sure your pet is cared for ... when you are unable to care for them.

With the rising cases of COVID and people entering hospitals, or sadly, passing away, our shelter has be inundated with calls of abandoned animals that were left behind. Click here for more on this story.

 

We never know when disaster might strike. It could be a car accident, or sudden illness or even death.

If the unthinkable happens, what would become of your companion animal? Here are steps to take to be sure they are cared for should you or a family member suddenly face a crisis.

  • Make arrangements now with family member or friend to look after your pet in your absence.

 

  • Be sure your pet has identification including a collar with up-to-date pet tag and updated microchip.

  • Be sure you have adequate food and medical supplies on hand for your designated caretaker.

 

Our pets are important to us, especially during these challenging times. They give us companionship and help reduce stress and anxiety.
